Research and exchange of practices for work engagement and inclusion of young people at risk through alternative programs.
The activity consists of two key elements:-
– SubActivity1: Examining practices that are innovative for Bulgaria and applied in Wales by the project partner Sazani Associates. They concern work engagement and inclusion of young people at risk, marginalized youth with criminogenic behavior and ultras through alternative programs which include sports, animal-assisted therapy, craft entrepreneurship and music therapy.
– Subactivity2: Exchange for observation and study. The exchange in Carmarthen, Wales aims to observe and study the practical application of the approaches in a real environment.
The importance of this activity is based on the fact that exclusion, marginalization and radicalization among young people have become the new challenges Europe has to face. Young adults who are not working and/or studying are easily being drawn into radical organizations, ultras and other risky groups. The lack of qualitative opportunities for employment threatens a great number of those who feel excluded. Young people who have fewer skills and fewer opportunities are at greater risk. This refers not only to Bulgaria but the rest of Europe as well.
Specific centers for work and support of youths at risk in Carmarthen will be visited within the activity. The experts will exchange experience with organizations with similar subject activities. Sazani Associates will organize its visits in advance and will cooperate on the meetings with youths and experts. The main goal of the team is to acquire modern theoretical knowledge and practical skills while using the innovative approach to work engagement and inclusion of youths at risk, marginalized youths with criminogenic behavior and ultras through alternative programs which include sports, animal-assisted therapy, craft entrepreneurship and music therapy. Professionals will broaden their knowledge and develop their skills further. They will study and analyze the sports programs, animal-assisted therapy, craft entrepreneurship and music therapy, which in addition will help them adapt the innovative approach to Bulgaria, with consideration of the specifics of the country and the target group.
